UPDATE: Water line break shuts Mountain Road, north of Downtown, for several blocks
Work crews have repaired a water line break that's forced the closure of a portion of Mountain Road, but drivers will have to wait a while longer before the road reopens.
"The closure of Mountain Road NW between 8th and 12th Streets will remain in place until paving is completed and a manhole ring and cover are replaced, which is expected to be done by the end of the week," Albuquerque Bernalillo County Water Utility Authority representatives said in a Thursday update.
Water was also restored to affected residences and businesses.
The major collector street north of Downtown has been closed for several blocks since Wednesday due to the 20-inch water line break, the Water Authority said Wednesday.
