The juror’s podcast leading to a MISTRIAL was a very selfish choice on her part. She ignored her basic role as a juror. She risked the other jurors’ roles as well. If God forbid I should I ever need a jury, please make sure Ms. Allen isn’t on it. KW
I can’t understand why RUSSIA wouldn’t want to accept the same peace deal that the US worked out between Israel and Hamas. It basically would allow them to continue bombing Ukraine and even allow them to expand bombing into say, Poland, or pursue so called Ukrainian terrorists elsewhere. DLP
Once again, I was late multiple mornings this week because ABQ RIDE didn’t start the route on time and I missed my bus in the afternoon because they operated ahead of schedule. BV
The Albuquerque Journal headline on Dec. 3 makes much of “turning over personal voter data” to the DEPARTMENT OF JUSTICE. The data will allow cross-referencing with death records, voter registrations in other states and records regarding citizenship. The Journal should have more regard for cleaning up NM voter rolls. JRM
There’s really no mystery about the origin of SWEATSHIRT-GATE. Just look to the long-time tradition of the party of Richard “Dirty Tricks” Nixon. Just wear the shirt Inside-out; it will be just as warm. JN
You keep quoting Dan Lewis as saying RANKED-CHOICE voting violates the one person, one vote principle, but you never demand that he supply proof or an explanation. Come on, Albuquerque Journal, where’s your journalistic integrity? Courts in New Mexico and other states say it’s perfectly legal. SV
It should be noted that DIEGO PAVIA has gotten more positive exposure for Albuquerque since the Unsers and Tapia. Keep promoting Diego for the Heisman! AS
Our elected officials seem to not know some basic principles of human behavior: If you do not enforce the law, you encourage LAWLESSNESS. If you reward people for irresponsible behavior, you will continue to get irresponsible behavior. If you reward failure, you will get more failure. KH
The brazen removal of free park admission on Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Juneteenth and free admission on DJT BIRTHDAY illustrates the pure selfishness of this mentally deranged president. Lied his way into office to a gullible uneducated populace and greedy oligarch wannabes. EN
The state snaps its fingers and miraculously there is to be more social workers and FOSTER HOMES for children. Seriously? It takes a very special person and/or family to do this work and bring these children into their homes. I don’t know anyone who would take either on. MH
ICE claimed success in Chicago, making 1,900 ARRESTS. However, in spite of shooting an innocent woman, shooting a minister praying and tear gassing kids out on Halloween, ICE’s records show only 300 had criminal records, mostly misdemeanors. Seems like a lot of work and violence for a few real criminals. AF
I use MARIPOSA PARK year around, primarily the walking path that circumnavigates the park. My six-year observation is that the grassy areas need restoration, but not because of poor maintenance by the city, but because of misuse. Playing soccer and flag football on the grass causes major damage! RF
President Trump is bragging about Toyota’s new BATTERY PLANT in North Carolina like he had something to do with it. He didn’t. This project was conceived entirely under President Biden’s watch. This is akin to those Stolen Valor fake veterans trying to take credit for service they didn’t do. EJG.
Just how may times has Diego Pavia and his family been in the news for all the WRONG REASONS? Also, I don’t think I’ve ever heard another possible Heisman candidate ever publicly endorse himself. Humility is not in this family’s vocabulary, but humiliation definitely is. CC
The Journal’s pro-business editorial proclaiming data that ABQ citizens want go-go growth to pervade the community begs some questions: Why would anyone invest in a city with NO decent noncarbon PUBLIC TRANSPORT system, increasing traffic dangers, and a majority of matriculating college freshmen reading at the seventh-grade level? RW
Concerning Barbara Baca’s standing up for immigrant rights op-ed, I couldn’t disagree more. People here illegally have NO RIGHTS. For people to simply ignore the law because they don’t like it is wrong and sets a horrible example. Change the law if you don’t like it. SE
