SpeakUp!: Crime is practically endemic in Albuquerque

The DNC has dismantled democracy. They support decriminalizing immigration, giving taxpayer-funded health care to illegals. Also support taking away health care insurance from 170 million Americans. There is a clear and present danger to national security, our economy, culture, and way of life. DV

I’m a Republican, but PROJECT 2025 scares me. It’s very close to a dictatorial doctrine. Everyone should at least read a summary of it, there are several on the internet. Then ask yourself, is this what we want America to become? BW

Why do we continue to POUR MONEY and support into Eastern countries and try to change them, or Western Asia and try to convert them? They despise us and we are not going to change their culture that they have had for thousands of years. EH

The U.S. could essentially double the capacity of its electrical grid overnight by plugging RENEWABLE ENERGY projects into old fossil fuel power plants whether they be coal, gas or oil. And projects could be plugged into existing plants, not just ones that are retiring. WDS

Our representatives’ priorities should be effective crime-fighting. Crime’s practically endemic in Albuquerque. The focus should be on violent and property CRIME. We also need boots on the ground to fight dangerous traffic scofflaws like red light runners and speeders. The key is enforcement and accountability. Let’s do it. MY

I have paid great attention to the lists in the Journal of what people are concerned with. Now I will wait till the NOVEMBER ELECTION to see if they really want changes, or they are just whining and they put the same names back in office again. CAM

Regarding “NM voters strongly back raising age to purchase AR-15-style rifles” (Sept. 22, Sunday Journal): Journal poll asked if you support raising the age to buy assault rifles from 18 to 21. A better question: should the sale of AR-STYLE RIFLES be banned? JP

In the same week, the Journal ran articles indicating another DEMOCRAT SWEEP of the upcoming New Mexico elections followed by New Mexicans indicated crime and inflation are our major concerns. How is continually electing Democrats going to address our concerns? BT

My neighbor freaked out when she discovered a big TARANTULA on her patio. So, I relocated the big spider to the neighboring water tank yard. The spider was only looking for a mate. It is that time of the year. Be kind. GT

The sheriff says deputies Kyle Linker and Paul Jessen Jr. “crossed the line” for informing a confidential informant the DEA was on him for trafficking. CROSSED THE LINE? How about they became corrupted punks with badges? Drug dealing in the U.S. is a $15 billion business. Officer corruption is easy. Dig deeper, DEA. AL

Sen. Martin Heinrich’s latest ad is FULL OF FALSEHOODS but he’s fighting for his job. If he loses he has nothing. Unlike Nella Domenici his record is a vacuum. Unfortunately the citizens lost out with his tenure. I suggest he try to be successful in another venue. KJ

“Free” medical help, food, and now showers and laundry will not help the HOMELESS get off the streets. Just the opposite. Why seek a job or housing when taxpayers will fund all their basic needs so long as they remain homeless? RJB

A couple of weeks ago, Sen. MARTIN HEINRICH wrote “I will stand up for reproductive rights with every ounce of my being.” Is this the only issue in his playbook, especially since it is already legal in N.M.? Nella Domenici wants to solve crime, inflation, drugs and border security. You choose. DAW

When former President Donald Trump was president, his TARIFFS hurt our farmers so much we had to bail them out. Tariffs do one thing — they raise the cost for consumers. Other countries will not be paying for the tariffs, we will. Trump will not be better for the economy. JH
