Pay attention to what they do, not what they say. Trump promised “no tax on SOCIAL SECURITY,” but that is not what is in the budget bill. He claims that his campaign promise is being kept but “under a different form.” Look closely and you’ll see this isn’t true. JH

Until the recent bruhaha about increased TARIFFS on imports from certain countries, I was not aware of the level of tariffs other countries had on U.S. export goods. Some of them are pretty stiff and exceed ours. I think it is well past time to straighten this out. CAM

No, these are “trumped” up charges to legitimize President Trump’s wrongful actions. ML

Isn’t it interesting that the president who couldn’t call out the NATIONAL GUARD to stop his supporters from attacking federal law enforcement officials on Jan. 6, 2021, didn’t have a problem not only calling out the Guard but also Marine troops to stop his opponents from marching past federal enforcement officials in L.A. PEACEFUL PROTESTS are a constitutional right. Introducing armed military onto the scene in Los Angeles only serves to build fear and resentment in protesters. The Trump administration’s actions are a dangerous, inflammatory abuse of power that undermines the democratic principle that the military should not police the American people. SC

The Democrats and their partners in the media are asking why the ICE OFFICERS are wearing masks at a peaceful demonstration. Fires, destruction and attacks are not peaceful. Why don’t they ask why the rioters are wearing masks. SS

Now N.M.’s Sen. Martin Heinrich is joining the Democrats’ lame attempt to make LAW ENFORCEMENT the enemy of the people. This is a dangerous and failed strategy. Remember the Dems’ “defund the police” effort during the BLM riots? Didn’t work. Americans will always favor law and order over violence and chaos. SV

Bloomfield Police Officer TIMOTHY ONTIVEROS was killed by a convicted felon with a firearm. Our progressive Democrat legislators prevented increased penalties for felons in possession of a firearm. But they pass laws supporting making felons out of law-abiding citizens with firearms. When will the Legislature focus on punishing bad actors? BR

If REBEL, the APD police dog, had an offender in his grip, and the offender while armed was not firing his weapon, why did the officers fire their weapons? Does APD fire first and ask questions afterwards? Wasn’t that what the court-mandated reforms were all about? A tragic loss! RF

Regarding “Deb Haaland owes the public some answers about Joe Biden’s decline” in the June 8 Sunday Journal: Larry Behrens wrote about DEB HAALAND saying she owes the public answers about Joe Biden like it’s her fault. Just trying to get dirt on her for the first of many smear campaigns. Where were the articles blaming others for President Reagan’s decline? Nobody blamed others. Not a real issue. RW
