In the face of relentless childish bullying, Ukrainian President Volodymyr ZELENSKYY showed more courage and class than the entire U.S. Cabinet, Republican congressional body and most of the press corps put together. It was an example of moral strength we in the U.S. can only envy at this point. RA

President Trump made it clear to the world he sides with Russia. His berating of President Zelenskyy was appalling. His refusal to guarantee security for UKRAINE but gain profits from their minerals shows his disregard for humanity, and priority of money and “great TV.” He just made America weaker. DD

Ronald Reagan and John McCain must be rolling in their graves at actions by Trump toward FOREIGN POLICY. We were once the leader of the free world and defenders of liberty. Now we are subservient to Russia and are attacking our allies. Is this what was voted for? FD

Trump’s historic victory was a mandate to fix the country due to the disastrous policies of Democrats. We have a president putting America first. Border security and foreign policy are priorities. Climate change is the biggest financial, political hoax in recent history. The Democratic National Committee has demolished democracy. DG

The United States does not want UKRAINE’S minerals. American mega-business wants them. The minerals won’t do anything for our national treasury, but they will enrich the already rich corporations and their owners. RC

I can’t believe we handed the American government over to a flock of billionaires with conflicts of interest. ELON MUSK is ruthless and hardly qualified as an expert on governing. How many U.S. contracts does he have? Is there no compassion for the thousands of Americans who are losing their jobs? NK

The Route 66 National Research Center looks like a perfect example of a DOGE pull-the-plug project. How many citizens really want taxpayer dollars spent on something like this? RC

If President Trump were actually interested in weeding out FRAUD AND WASTE, he would look at each department and make cuts carefully. He would not send in an unelected billionaire to slash whatever departments he feels like, any way he wants to. Former President Clinton successfully cut 351,000 federal jobs. JH

“The White House will decide which NEWS OUTLETS get to cover us.” The first thing that dictators do when they take over is to restrict the press so that people won’t know what’s really going on. JMG

It is depressing and discouraging that none of the announced or anticipated candidates for ABQ MAYOR have the ability or the experience to solve the city’s entrenched problems. Community leaders need to recruit better candidates for mayor. WT

As a parent and educator, I was devastated by the tabling of the CLEAR HORIZONS ACT. Some claim the bill would have us transition to clean energy too rapidly. But for some, we’re already too late. Just ask the New Mexicans who have lost their homes and businesses to wildfires. NW

I was disappointed to learn Senate Bill 4 has been tabled. It’s not too late; let’s bring it back up for discussion. NM citizens deserve clean air and water, and this bill would regulate GREENHOUSE GAS. Setting goals and targets for reducing greenhouse emissions is a good thing for NM citizens. VT

Democrats want quality HEALTH CARE for everyone yet continue to make it hard to find it because of their refusal to make New Mexico a doctor-friendly state. Government’s hand in any worthy cause destroys it because of special interest. Why do we tolerate this? Surely elections should have consequences. GH

Democrats betrayed the majority of Americans who overwhelmingly want women and WOMEN’S SPORTS protected. They showed that they’re poor losers without caring or common sense. They’re now responsible when women don’t get scholarships or are hurt by a biological male who can only excel against women. Women deserve rights. JG

LEASH LAWS are disregarded by a great number of people at the Bosque and at other parks around town. For me and probably others, this means my special needs dog has to stay home to avoid loose dogs. Albuquerque, please leash your dogs. SW

Santa Fe has an opportunity to do some good: Put standard time vs. DAYLIGHT SAVINGS on the next election ballot. Let the people decide and vote. And then get rid of the time change like most of us have wanted for decades instead of doing nothing! AN

The GOP is proposing a voter citizenship requirement. Their proposal should include COMPULSORY VOTING for all citizens 18 years and older. That would result in an exceptionally strong democracy. JPO
