So President Donald Trump has rolled out his ridiculous TARIFFS against essentially every country in the world (except Russia and North Korea). He said it was Liberation Day. The only thing I saw being liberated was the contents of my 401(k) after the stock markets reacted to what he did. EJG

Trump has raised TARIFFS on almost every country in the world, causing chaos in world markets, but not on Russia. Why is that? SS

Tariffs can be good or bad. For example, a TARIFF that victimizes everyone else to benefit me is good. Whereas, a tariff that hurts me to benefit someone else is bad. It’s as simple as that. KT

Do you like krill? Many creatures do! Unfortunately, the recent 50% tariffs on HEARD ISLAND and McDonald Island, off the coast of Australia and which are inhabited by penguins and sea lions only, may place severe restrictions on your krill intake. JG

It is amazingly hypocritical though, for the current administration to call those criminal individuals terrorists, but not those who participated in the Jan. 6 Capitol riot. Those were criminal acts of law enforcement and property, yet they get pardoned. DD

The Trump administration just LAID OFF the entire staff of the Low Income Home Energy Assistance Program, which helps to offset high utility bills for about 6.2 million people. Apparently, only billionaires should be able to have life-saving heat and cooling. JH

Complete TRANSPARENCY in government is vital to a free society. We need to know who is influencing the laws and policies our elected officials are passing on our behalf. We are becoming less a system of for and by the people, to a system of for and by special interest. GH

It’s no surprise left-leaning New Mexicans join the DEMOCRAT LEADERSHIP in continuing to protest about President Trump. To me and many others, it’s complaining without acting. What’s their alternative plan for security, education and government spending? New Mexico Democrat leadership has zero solutions for those familiar problems, unlike Trump. AN

2020 Sheriff Manny Gonzales asked for federal law enforcement help, “Operation Legend,” to combat violent crime. Sen. Martin Heinrich, Rep. Deb Haaland, Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham, Mayor Tim Keller opposed, saying don’t bring “storm troopers.” State Police have been deployed. Now Lujan Grisham deployed the NATIONAL GUARD. Crime victims wish this change had happened sooner. BR

Mayor Keller sure is worried about loose scooters on the sidewalks. What about HOMELESS, panhandlers and the illegals and their carts and tents everywhere? BG

The total absence of any real PARENTING in this state has reached an all-time low. That 11- and 13-year-olds think it’s funny to videotape themselves hitting a bicyclist and leaving him to die ... heinous. DC

New Mexico’s calling in the cavalry. Why can’t Albuquerque just hire more police service aids instead of drafting the NATIONAL GUARD? SR

In the search for a new site for the NEW MEXICO FAIRGROUNDS, how about along the route of the Rail Runner — or where an extension to the Rail Runner could be added? It would reduce congestion and pollution. Or does Expo like parking fees too much? JL

People: Please don’t put your TRASH BIN out unless it contains two or more bags of trash. Recycle bins should be at least 2/3 full, not to save time for drivers, but to save wear/tear on the bins, especially on the lids. Replacement is costly. JG
