TOP OF MIND: With under a month to go in the year, how would you characterize 2023? Good, bad or just plain ugly — and why?
The last time Gov. Michelle Lujan Grisham was publicly seen in an electric vehicle was at a July 3 news conference in Rio Rancho, when she got out of a bright red Ford Mustang Mach E 4X prior to announcing zero-emission mandates for new cars and trucks sent to New Mexico.
LAST WEEK'S QUESTION:
With under a month to go in the year, how would you characterize 2023? Good, bad or just plain ugly — and why?
Horrible! With Biden's open border, high inflation, international relations, two wars, climate change agenda, etc., how much worse can it get?

It’s a no-brainer — 2023 is a ‘George Santos’ ugly year. Two nasty wars with many innocent civilians killed. Increasing authoritarianism worldwide, political divisions exploited for profit and power, climate change not controlled, inflation, crime, dangerous drivers. Possible conflict with Russia and China. Makes you glad you’re old.

One month to go and N.M. will remain with the same “bad” governor and a “just plain ugly” mayor of Albuquerque. Both politicians are inebriated with power and control. Yet, N.M. remains a “good” place to live in if you can afford it and put up with the crime.

RE 2023: I was not, as Frank Sinatra once sung, "A Very Good Year." It was more like Queen Elizabeth II once called it, an "Annus Horribilis." Terrible conduct and decisions by our political leadership at all levels and a diminution of America's international standing. Woe is us.
— Dave Coulie

Bad and ugly. Lee Van Cleef (Bad) runs Albuquerque, New Mexico, and most of America and the world. The whole year has turned into Eli Wallach (Ugly) with no hope of Clint Eastwood (Good) coming to our rescue to make things right.

GOOD. In this holiday season I believe we need to begin a frame of mind of being positive, filling our hearts with gratitude, being thankful with a readiness to show appreciation for and to return kindness to others.
