Class 1A: Dunn's 24-point, 26-rebound game not enough as Fort Sumner/House drops Corona/Vaughn

The girls Class 1A state tournament moves into the semifinals without star player Harper Dunn.
Second-seeded Fort Sumner/House defeated Dunn’s No. 7 Corona/Vaughn squad 63-40 in a quarterfinal game Wednesday at Bernalillo High School.
Dunn, a 6-foot-6 sophomore and Top 25 recruit nationally, scored 24 points, hauled in 26 rebounds and blocked four shots in the loss.
Fort Sumner/House responded with a balanced scoring attack. Alyssa Causus put in 14 points to lead five Lady Foxes in double-figure scoring. FS/H scored 27 points on 26 Cardinal turnovers.
In the semifinals Thursday at the Rio Rancho Events Center, Fort Sumner/House will play sixth-seeded Cliff, which upset No. 3 Melrose 45-32.
On the other side of the bracket, it’ll be No. 1 Roy/Mosquero squaring off against No. 4 Quemado in the semifinals.
The top-seeded Lady Blue are the only prep high school team in New Mexico — boys or girls — who haven’t lost a game. They routed No. 9 Springer 68-31 on Wednesday, led by Nora Crisp’s 33 points and 15 rebounds.
Quemado beat No. 5 Magdalena 54-30.
BOYS CLASS 1A: The top four seeds all won Wednesday at Bernalillo High and advanced to the semifinals Thursday at Rio Rancho Events Center. No. 1 Logan will play fourth-seeded Magdalena and No. 2 Melrose will be matched against third-seeded Fort Sumner/House.
