Former Lobo D'Angelo Ross activated by NFL's Houston Texans

The NFL team, which announced the roster move on Wednesday, has a bye this week and next plays on the road against the Carolina Panthers on Oct. 29.
We have signed D’Angelo Ross to the active roster from the practice squad and made other roster moves.

Ross, after playing in 2017 and 2018 for the Lobos, was an undrafted free agent for the New England Patriots in 2019 before being injured. He played three games with New England in 2021 and appeared in two games last season with the Texans.
The move coincided with the Texans placing safety Eric Murray, an 8th-year pro out of Minnesota, to the Reserve/Injured list.
The 26-year-old Ross, a 5-foot-9, 190-pounder from La Puente, Calif., appeared in 23 games for the Lobos over his two seasons with 85 total tackles, one interception and 17 pass break-ups. He played at Fullerton (Calif.) Junior College before transferring to UNM.
In 2019, Ross ran a 4.32 in the 40-yard-dash at his pro-day workout in Albuquerque and had recorded a 39-inch vertical leap.
Ross joins Seattle Seahawks safety Jerrick Reed II, Miami Dolphins kicker Jason Sanders and Cleveland Browns punter Corey Bojorquez as former UNM Lobos on active NFL rosters. Defensive end Dylan Horton, who played at UNM in 2018 and 2019 before transferring to TCU, is also on the Texans' active roster.
