Former Lobo joins The Enchantment roster ahead of next week's TBT tournament
The Enchantment added some muscle to its frontcourt on Thursday, not to mention a little home cookin’ for next week’s start of its run in the $1 million, winner-take-all TBT tournament.
Former UNM forward Morris Udeze, the Houston native who will be playing over the next week in the NBA Summer League for the Houston Rockets, has joined the now 11-person Enchantment roster, a team primarily comprised of players with New Mexico ties.
The Enchantment opens play in the 64-team tournament next Friday against Once a Bronco, a team of former Boise State players, including several who were in the Mountain West two seasons ago when Udeze played for the Lobos and was named the league’s Newcomer of the Year in 2023, his only season with UNM after playing his first four years at Wichita State.
Udeze played professionally in Poland this past season.
Enchantment General Manager Brandon Mason has acknowledged there is a chance of another addition to the team before next week’s first game, but as of Thursday night nothing had been confirmed.
In the meantime, members of The Enchantment roster, not including Udeze who is in Las Vegas, Nevada, to start Summer League action on Friday, have started arriving in Albuquerque for workouts.
Tickets are on sale for Tuesday’s all-star exhibition game in the Pit that will pit the TBT roster against a team of former Lobo greats that includes the likes of Tony Snell, Alex Kirk, Kendall Williams and more.
Tuesday’s game will include a youth all-star game on the Pit floor at 5 p.m., when doors open, a 3-point contest and the exhibition game. It’s partly a fundraiser for the TBT team and will also serve to honor former Lobo legends Greg Brown, Ruben Douglas and Drew Gordon, who each died unexpectedly in recent months.
Tickets for Tuesday’s all-star game can be purchased at GoLobos.com/Tickets.
