Ice Wolves advance to division semis
The Ice Wolves celebrate with fans after advancing to the semifinals in the Robertson Cup tournament.
The Ice Wolves have advanced to the South Division Semifinals of the 2025 Roberston Cup and will face off against the reigning league champions the Lone Star Brahmas in a best-of-five series.
Games one and two take place at Lone Star this Friday and Saturday. Games three and four (if necessary) are scheduled at the Outpost Ice Arenas April 24 and 25. Game five (if necessary) is back at Lone Star April 27.
LAST WEEK: The Ice Wolves took on the El Paso Rhinos in a best-of-three series for the division quarterfinals. New Mexico took game one, lost in overtime game two, and came back firing on all cylinders for game three, shutting out the Rhinos 4-0 and locking in their spot for the division semis.
RECORDS AND STANDINGS: In the regular season the Ice Wolves went 1-1-1-1 against the Brahmas with one regulation win, a regulation loss, an overtime loss, and a shootout loss.
In the 2024 playoffs, the Ice Wolves also faced the Brahmas in the division semifinals and ultimately lost in four games.
PLAYERS TO KNOW: Toivo Laaksonen and Nayan Pai lead the team in the playoffs with five points each. Andy Earl falls right behind with four points.
DETAILS: The team plays at 6:30 p.m. Friday and Saturday in Lone Star and will be back at the Outpost at 6:30 p.m. April 24 and 25 for games three and four (if necessary).
