New Mexico added a little local flavor to its transfer portal class this weekend.

Western New Mexico defensive tackle and Albuquerque native Deven Dyer committed to New Mexico on Sunday, capping a weekend that saw the Lobos gain four commitments out of the transfer portal.

After starting his collegiate career at New Mexico State, the 6-foot-3, 290-pound redshirt sophomore made 48 total tackles in 22 games with the Mustangs over the last two seasons. He joins the Lobos after entering the portal in November, and has two years of eligibility remaining.

Dyer was a first-team All-State selection at defensive end as a La Cueva senior. He is the older brother of Cam Dyer, a former four-star recruit now playing at Arizona State, and Jordan Dyer, a senior at La Cueva and Pacific women's basketball commit.
