New Mexico Ice Wolves celebrate the Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta
Four NM Ice Wolves players celebrate in a game earlier this season.
The NAHL New Mexico Ice Wolves face South Division opponent the Amarillo Wranglers this Saturday at the Outpost Ice Arenas at 5 p.m. — a special, early start time providing fans the chance to get home in time to attend the 2025 ExxonMobil Albuquerque International Balloon Fiesta the next morning.
Every fan in attendance will receive a commemorative Balloon Fiesta puck.
LAST WEEK: The Ice Wolves travelled to Blaine, Minnesota, for the NAHL Showcase where they played three games against teams from across the league.
The first game of the Showcase was a reunion for the team and former NA3HL head coach, Darren Banks, who is now the head coach of the Kenai River Brown Bears.
The Ice Wolves went 2-1 at the Showcase putting up 10 points over the three games.
RECORDS AND STANDINGS: The Ice Wolves sit in second place of the South Division, just above the Amarillo Wranglers.
The two teams met at opening weekend in a three-game series. The Ice Wolves won two out of the three games.
PLAYERS TO KNOW: Captain Sean Gibbons, US Army commit, was recently named the South Division third star of the week following his performance at the Showcase where he totaled three goals and an assist for four points over the three games.
Rookie Koen Harrold scored big at the Showcase with a game-winning goal in overtime — his first NAHL goal — making him one to watch.
Single game tickets start at $31 for reserved stadium chair seats and $18 for bleacher seats. Tickets can be purchased at tickets.nmicewolves.com
