NM Chupacabras to hold open tryouts
Local indoor football team, formerly the Duke City Gladiators, announces open tryouts to be held this weekend
The New Mexico Chupacabras, Albuquerque’s professional indoor football team, is inviting athletes from across the region to compete for a spot on the 2026 roster. The team will host open tryouts on Saturday, Jan. 10, at Tingley Coliseum. Registration begins at 10 a.m.
All participants will be tested in a series of position-specific drills and evaluations designed to identify players ready to compete at the professional level in the Indoor Football League.
Sign up in advance at Chupacabras.net or register on-site the day of the event. Participants should bring appropriate athletic gear, indoor turf shoes, and proof of registration.
“We’re building something special here in New Mexico,” said Chupacabras general manager Tim Smith. “This is your chance to be part of a team that represents the pride, culture, and energy of our state. If you’ve got the drive and the talent, we want to see you out there.”
The New Mexico Chupacabras will kick off their inaugural IFL season in 2026 at Tingley Coliseum.
