Pit hosting State Spirit Championships this weekend
Dance on Friday, cheerleading on Saturday
The Pit is hosting the State Spirit Championships on Friday and Saturday.
The dance portion of the weekend is scheduled on Friday, with performances beginning at 9 a.m. and continuing until almost 3 p.m.
The cheerleading half will run all day and well into the evening Saturday, starting at 8 a.m. with Class A-AA, and ending around 8:20 p.m. as the last of the Class cheer squads perform their routines.
A day pass will be $20, which includes fees charged by the University of New Mexico. And the day pass does include re-entry privileges. An adult ticket is $15 for a day pass, and the cost will run $10 for students, seniors and Military.
There are no cash tickets; they can be obtained through UNM and golobos.evenue.net.
UNM will be charging $7 per vehicle.
La Cueva (cheer) and Roswell (dance) are the defending 5A state champions.
