Popular Bob's Week 8 NFL Forecast: Which teams will blame it on the rain?

Published Modified

This could be a soggy weekend across the NFL map as there's a "slight chance" of rain forecast for seven of the eight games to be played outdoors in Week 8, according to NFLweather.com. The game in Cincinnati between the Bengals and Jets has the highest probability for precipitation.

Here's a look at the weekend's games:

THURSDAY

---> Minnesota Vikings (3-3) at Los Angeles Chargers (4-3), 6:15 p.m.

Chargers -3.5 (45 O/U)

Forecast: Chargers 27, Vikings 13

Minnesota could get a needed ground boost if it activates standout RB Aaron Jones (IR, hamstring.) But without him, forget it.

SUNDAY

---> Miami Dolphins (1-6) at Atlanta Falcons (3-3), 11 a.m.

Falcons -7.5 (44.5 O/U)

Forecast: Falcons 23, Dolphins 9

Chatterbox QB Tua Tagovailoa will remain in the lineup for Miami after having his second straight game with three INTs. That's good news for Atlanta.

---> NY Jets (0-7) at Cincinnati Bengals (3-4), 11 a.m.

Bengals -6.5 (44.5 O/U)

Forecast: Bengals 24, Jets 20

It was 50 years ago that the Bengals were victimized by a team that had a record worse than the Jets'. That year Cincinnati, with an 8-1 mark, was a 35-23 loser to 0-9 Cleveland. But those Bengals hadn't yet acquired QB Joe Flacco.

---> Cleveland Browns (2-5) at New England Patriots (5-2), 11 a.m.

Patriots -7 (40.5 O/U)

Forecast: Patriots 24, Browns 14

Although the Browns routed Miami last week 31-6, they had a season-low 206 yards of offense and benefited from a plus-4 turnover edge. The Patriots, meanwhile, make few mistakes and are zooming behind QB Drake Maye.

---> NY Giants (2-5) at Philadelphia Eagles (5-2), 11 a.m.

Eagles -7.5 (43.5 O/U).

Forecast: Eagles 27, Giants 23

The Eagles' running game is still going nowhere and the offense had only 21 points last week in Minnesota despite QB Jalen Hurts having a perfect passer rating. NYG, which beat Philly 34-17 two weeks ago, should at least stay close.

---> Buffalo Bills (4-2) at Carolina Panthers (4-3), 11 a.m.

Bills -7.5 (46 O/U)

Forecast: Buffalo 27, Panthers 24

The Panthers must have a pretty good running game if the league's leading rusher in both Weeks 5 and 6, Rico Dowdle, was a backup last week.

---> Chicago Bears (4-2) at Baltimore Ravens(1-5), 11 a.m.

Ravens -6.5 (48 O/U)

Forecast: Ravens 35, Bears 34

Interesting point spread. The Ravens have lost four in a row and the Bears have won four straight. But Chicago doesn't have two-time MVP quarterback Lamar Jackson. Unfortunately, Baltimore, off a bye, might not have him either while he deals with a hamstring injury.

---> San Francisco 49ers (5-2) at Houston Texans (2-4), 11 a.m.

Texans -1 (41.5 O/U)

Forecast: 49ers 27, Texans 20:

The Texans might be missing their leading receiver, Nico Collins, who is in concussion protocol.

---> Tampa, Bay Bucs (5-2) at New Orleans Saints (1-6), 2:05 p.m.

Bucs -4 (47 O.U)

Forecast: Bucs 23, Saints 21

The Bucs showed little against Detroit last week and could have trouble in the Dome.

---> Dallas Cowboys (3-3-1) at Denver Broncos (5-2), 2:05 p.m.

Broncos -3.5 (51 O/U)

Forecast: Cowboys 33, Broncos 21

If the Giants can score 32 points against Denver then the Cowboys should be able to at least match that, especially with WR CeeDee Lamb back in action.

---> Tennessee Titans (1-6) at Indianapolis Colts (6-1), 2:25 p.m.

Colts -14 (47 O/U)

Forecast: Colts 27, Titans 17

This season favorites of 14 points or more are 0-2 against the spread. Plus, the Colts defense has been gashed the past four weeks, yielding a norm of 401 yards a game.

---> Green Bay Packers (4-1-1) at Pittsburgh Steelers (4-2), 6:20 p.m.

Packers -3 (45 O/U )

Forecast: Packers 30, Steelers 24

Pittsburgh's Aaron Rodgers gets to work against his former team for the first time. The Steelers are protecting him well, but the defense has been weak.

MONDAY

---> Washington Commanders (3-4) at Kansas City Chiefs (4-3), 6:15 p.m.

Chiefs -12.5 (47 O/U)

Forecast: Chiefs 27, Commanders 10

Washington's Marcus Mariota will get the start at QB for injured Jayden Daniels.
