State swimming and diving gets underway Friday
The 2026 state swimming and diving championships begin on Friday at the Albuquerque Academy Natatorium.
The boys and girls diving prelims, and semifinals are the first events on the docket, on Friday morning.
Swimming prelims are scheduled for 3 p.m. Friday.
The swimming and diving finals program is 11:30 a.m. Saturday. There are a handful of swim finals, followed by the 1-meter diving finals, and then the remainder of the swimming finals.
The host Chargers are the defending big-school state champions. Cottonwood Classical Prep has won the last three small-school titles.
The Academy girls are on a tremendous run of blue trophies, and this weekend are chasing their 10th consecutive championship.
A day pass, in which re-entry is permitted is $17 per day. An adult ticket is $12, but without re-entry privileges.
Students, seniors and military tickets are $8; also, no re-entry allowed.
