Tickets ($100 per person, $1,000 per table) remain on sale for Sunday’s New Mexico Sports Hall of Fame banquet at the Albuquerque Convention Center.

The 2024 inductees:

ROY COOPER, a rodeo calf-roping legend from Hobbs who won six PRCA titles in that event and won all-around cowboy honors in 1983. Cooper died in April at age 69.

STEVE LOY, a former Sandia High School and Eastern New Mexico quarterback and an ENMU All-America golfer who has become one the nation’s most successful and influential sports agents.

ALANA NICHOLS, a Farmington native who overcame paralysis suffered in a snowboarding accident to become a Paralympics gold medalist in basketball and skiing.

MICHAEL SINCLAIR, a Texan and an All-America ENMU defensive lineman who played 11 seasons in the NFL and was selected to play in three Pro Bowls.

FREDD YOUNG, who starred at NMSU before twice earning All-Pro honors with the Seattle Seahawks during a seven-year NFL career.

The banquet, described as a black tie event, is scheduled for 6-9 p.m. It’s to be preceded by a reception, scheduled for 5-6 pm.

To register or for more information, go to nmshof.org or to the New Mexico Sports Hall of Fame’s Facebook page.

BROWN OUT: Former New Mexico State basketball star Randy Brown, announced in December as a member of the current induction class, is no longer part of it. According to a member of the NMSHOF board, Brown politely declined the honor.
