Tony Snell latest Lobo great to commit to next week's all-star game in The Pit
Ready for a night of Lobo hoops nostalgia overload?
Former UNM hoops star and longtime NBA veteran Tony Snell on Monday was the latest former program great to confirm he will be back in Albuquerque next week for The Enchantment TBT vs. Lobo alumni all-star exhibition game in the Pit next Tuesday, July 16.
Tickets for the event are available at GoLobos.com/tickets. The game is being organized by The Enchantment general managers Brandon Mason and Ryan Berryman.
The game is serving a multitude of purposes. It is part fundraiser, part party, part preparation for the upcoming $1 million, winner-take-all TBT basketball tournament, part public memorial for three fallen Lobo legends and most of all just a fun night of basketball for Lobo fans and former UNM players.
“Hey, what’s going on, Lobo Nation,” Snell said in a social media video posted by The Enchantment TBT team account Monday.
“I’m looking forward to reuniting with everyone in the Pit and honoring the passing of Drew Gordon.”
Tony Snell will be back in @ThePitUNM for the alumni game on July 16th in honor of Drew Gordon.

Gordon, who starred for the Lobos from 2010-2012, died at the age of 33 in a car crash May 30 in Oregon.
Ruben Douglas, the former national scoring champion who played at UNM from 2000-2003, was 44 when he died in April in Costa Rica after acquiring an infection.
Greg Brown, the former Albuquerque High state champion and WAC Player of the Year and conference champion at UNM, was 51 when he died last month in a single-vehicle crash west of Albuquerque.
All three will be honored at the game.
The Enchantment, with a roster composed primarily of players with New Mexico ties who will compete in Houston later this month in the 64-team The Basketball Tournament, will be named Team Gordon for the exhibition. The Enchantment roster will be coached by former Lobo great and NBA player Kenny Thomas.
The Lobo alumni roster, with players from several eras and Brown’s daughter, Amaya Brown, a former Lobo women’s basketball player, will be dubbed Team Douglas. The roster will be coached by former Lobo great and recent Naismith Basketball Hall of Fame inductee Michael Cooper.
The night will also feature a youth all-star game and a 3-point shootout called the Greg Brown 3-point Contest.
The TBT team will have some star power, including pro players such as Scott Bamforth (Del Norte High School), Bryce Alford (La Cueva High School) and JR Giddens and Anthony Mathis (UNM).
The Lobo alumni roster is overflowing with talent who see the event as a way to honor their fallen teammates. Snell, Kendall Williams, Alex Kirk and others are among the confirmed players.
