Which former UNM and Mountain West players are in the Las Vegas Summer League?
Morris Udeze, middle, celebrates after scoring during a Jan. 17, 2023, game against San Jose State at the Pit. Udeze, along with former Spartan Omari Moore, right, are playing in this year’s NBA Summer League in Las Vegas.
Former Lobo Morris Udeze will play in the NBA Summer League for his hometown Houston Rockets.
Udeze, who played professionally this past season in Poland, is one of 15 players on the Rockets roster for the upcoming Las Vegas Summer League, which starts Friday and runs through July 22.

Udeze, a 6-foot-8, 240-pound forward, joins Jaelen House as former Lobos playing in the Las Vegas Summer League.
House, the former UNM point guard, will play for the NBA champion Boston Celtics’ summer league team. House has been in Boston this week to practice with the team. He was also around the team in his younger years when his father, Eddie House, was on the Celtics, including as a key part of their 2008 championship.

As of Tuesday night, and with five or six teams yet to announce their rosters, House and Udeze appear to be the only two former Lobos participating in the Las Vegas Summer League. They are two of 22 players who were on Mountain West teams at some point in their college career playing in the Las Vegas Summer League (the NBA’s main summer league event).
Udeze, who is from Houston, led Szczecin (Poland) King to the Orlen Basketball League championship series this past season after averaging 10.7 points and 4.1 rebounds in 20.7 minutes this past season while shooting 63.5% from the floor.
In college, Udeze played four seasons for Wichita State before transferring to UNM, where he averaged 16.4 points and 9.6 rebounds and earned second team All-Mountain West in his lone season for the Lobos in 2022-23.
The Rockets open Summer League play Friday at 5:30 p.m. against the Los Angeles Lakers in UNLV’s Thomas & Mack Center. The game will be broadcast on ESPN.
