Anita (Annie) Montoya Anita (Annie) Montoya, age 94, born in Albuquerque, passed away peacefully on August 4, 2025, comforted by her beloved and devoted nephew, Larry. Annie is survived by her nephews, Larry (Lorraine) Gurule, Steve Gurule; and nieces, Becky (Patrick) LeFaive and Sheila Gurule (Gene Johnson). She is also survived by her great-nieces and nephews, Angela Gurule (Carl Armijo), Sarah (Mark) Rogowski, Desi Gurule, Racquel Gurule, Sylvia (Kristy) (David) Marquez, Jayson (Emily) Varela, and Gabriel Varela (Valery Loera), and by 13 great-great-nieces and nephews. She is also survived by nephew, Bill Varela. Annie was preceded in death by her parents, Manuel and Elvira Montoya; her sister, Cecilia Gurule; brother-in-law, Reyes Gurule; nieces, Sandra Varela and Deena Gurule; and great-niece, Felicia Gurule. Annie was a cherished Aunt and cousin, and was known for making the most beautiful, wonderful and delicious cakes for all occasions. She was a devoted member of San Felipe De Neri Church. We will miss our Auntie Annie and she will remain forever in our hearts. Rosary, followed by Mass will be held Friday, August 22, 2025 10:30 AM, at San Felipe De Neri Church, 2005 North Plaza Street NW, Albuquerque, NM. Interment will follow at Mount Calvary Cemetery.
