Ann Marie Smathers Ann Marie Smathers, lifelong resident of
Ann Marie Smathers Ann Marie Smathers, lifelong resident of Albuquerque and cherished daughter, sister and friend, passed away peacefully on September 7, 2025 at the age of 52. Her creative spark was undeniable; she poured her heart into short stories, artwork, and leatherworking. She was happiest with a guitar in her hands, a dog by her side, and enjoying classic Scooby-Doo mysteries. Her memory lives on in the hearts of those she inspired. Ann was preceded in death by her mother Roberta Smathers and both sets of grandparents. She is survived by her father Douglas Smathers, brother Robert Smathers, best friend Karen Grier, and several aunts, uncles, and cousins. Memorial Service will be held on Saturday, October 25th, 2025 at 11:00 AM at Asbury United Methodist Church.
