Audrey Mellor Audrey Mellor, nee Thomas passed away on November 06, 2025. She was 89. She was born in Bridgeport, Connecticut on March 15, 1936, to Elsie and Charles Thomas. She attended Stratford High School, where she met Richard, and they fell in love. Together they raised a family of four girls. In 1963, the family moved to Albuquerque and continued their adventure. Audrey embraced the culture of New Mexico by making Ojo's, learning to cook with red and green chile and taking drives to every historical site in the state. Audrey worked for Mountain Bell Telephone company for her entire adult life. Starting as an operator and progressing up to state forecaster. She witnessed all the changes that occurred with the telephone. After her career with the phone company, Audrey volunteered at the ABQ BioPark for over 15 years as a zoo docent, an aquarium docent and a BioVan educator. Audrey and Richard loved to travel. First, driving all over the United States in a car, then an RV and then a Honda Goldwing motorcycle. When they explored what they could do in the US, they started branching out to travel abroad visiting England, France, Russia, Cape Horn, and Egypt to name a few. Then they found Cruising, and they were hooked. They cruised everywhere. Between all their travels, they enjoyed their family life. Audrey made Sunday dinner for years. Gathering with their ever-enlarging family every week to eat, talk, and play cards. She was a wonderful cook and loved hosting. In her later years she enjoyed walking and visiting with her neighborhood cat and friends. On nice days she enjoyed sitting outside in her beautiful yard and reading in the sun. She is preceded in death by her beloved husband Richard, her parents, her two sisters and two sons-in-law. She is survived by her 4 daughters, 2 sons-in-law, ten grandchildren, and twelve great-grandchildren. We love you Mom/Nana/Great Nana, May you rest in peace.
