Beverly O. Southard Beverly Ochterbeck Southard, 92, passed away on October 25, 2025. Beverly was born on October 6, 1933, to Wilbur J. and Carrie S. Ochterbeck in Albuquerque, NM. After graduating from Highland High School in 1951, she earned her teaching degree from the University of New Mexico, where she was a proud and active member of Alpha Chi Omega. Beverly went on to devote thirty-three years to teaching in Texas, Louisiana, and New Mexico. She was a dedicated and gifted educator whose impact continues to shape countless lives. Nothing brought Beverly more joy than her role as Nana. She was generous, loving, and known for her ever-present smile. Her laughter, and her unmistakably loud whistle, made it easy to know when Nana was nearby. Beverly was preceded in death by her parents; her brother, John W. Ochterbeck; her partner, Forrest "Put" Putman; and her great-granddaughter, Parker Luquet. She is survived by her son, Steve Southard (Shelia), and their children Cori Luquet (Daniel), Nathan Southard (Sarah), Derick Southard, and Kaci Disney; her daughter, Paula Glaser (Mark); grandson Christopher "TC" Southard (Kuhi); and fifteen great-grandchildren.
