Carolyn E. Mountain Carolyn Elizabeth Mountain, age 82, wife of John Joseph Cordova Jr., died at home on March 23rd, 2025 in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Carolyn was born on August 9th, 1942 to Kathryn and Charles Towle in Chuquicamata, Chile. She grew up in Denver, Colorado and moved to Albuquerque, New Mexico in the early 1960's, where she graduated from the University of New Mexico. Carolyn pursued a career as a research librarian for most of her working life, retiring in 2009 from Zimmerman Library at the University of New Mexico. She was bilingual in English and Spanish, and had a deep appreciation for the Hispanic and native cultures of New Mexico, and served on The Board of the Robb Trust, the curator of a large collection of traditional Hispanic music at the University of New Mexico. Carolyn was very close to her family, and is survived by her husband John Cordova, her son Charles Davis, her granddaughter Serena Davis, her sister Sheila Towle, and her step-daughters Rosemary Cordova and Katherine Cordova. She was deeply loved by her friends and family, and will be sorely missed. Carolyn was a long-time participant in Centers for Spiritual Living and a member of Bosque Center For Spiritual Living. Services will be held at 2:00pm on May 31, 2025 at Rio Grande Center for Spiritual Living, located at 4374 Alexander Blvd NE Suite T.
