Doyle Lyle Uptain 1958-2025 Doyle Uptain, 66, passed away unexpectedly on April 2, 2025. Doyle was born in Doloras, Colo., on Dec. 21, 1958, to Sue and Harry Uptain. Doyle took pride in his many professions. He spent several years as a commercial diver and underwater welder, proudly served as a sheriff's deputy for the Valencia County Sheriff's Office, and excelled in the oilfield, as a heavy equipment operator and over-the-road truck driver. His most treasured "job" was being a husband, father and grandfather. Doyle led an adventurous life and enjoyed time with his wife, Katrina, hiking, camping, hunting and riding his Harley. He cherished his grandchildren and adored time spent teaching them how to shoot, cheering them on at sports games and ice cream dates. Doyle is survived by his wife of 31 years, Katrina; his sons, Jesse and James; his daughters, Kimberly and her husband, Curtis, and Ashley and her husband, Garrett; six special grandchildren, Eva and her husband, Mike, Lily, Sylas, Sheldon, Charlie and Brinley; and one great-grandson, Jayce. Doyle is also survived by his brother, Dave. Doyle lived his life with honor, courage and strength, proudly representing his cowboy spirit. Services will be held in September in Mancus, Colo.
