Fidel Bernal Fidel Bernal, 76, of Albuquerque passed away on Thursday, July 10, 2025. He was surrounded by his loving family. Fidel was born on December 3, 1948, in Albuquerque, NM. He was the son of the late Fidel and Arcenia Bernal. He was preceded in death by three brothers and a sister. Fidel was a proud veteran of the United States Army. He served honorably, in the Vietnam War. He was a sharpshooter and marksman. Afterwards, he attended the University of NM and became an accountant. He worked for the state of NM and as an I.R.S. agent. He then became a CPA and started his own CPA practice. He was revered by his clients. He loved his work. He still made time for family and hobbies like fishing and camping in the Pecos wilderness and Bluewater Lake. Later in life, he took up woodworking. In addition to his loving wife, Alberta of 50 years: Fidel is survived by his sister, Josie and brothers, Adolph and Anthony: his children, Melissa, Pamela, Timothy, Vanessa, and Desiree: 16 grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren. A Mass will be held on Friday, August 1, 2025, 10:00 am at San Ignacio Catholic Church, 1300 Walter St. NE. 87102. A Reception will follow at The American Legion Post 13, 1201 Mountain Rd NE. 87102.
