Florencia (Fernandez) Jaramillo 1923 - 2025 It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Florencia (Fernandez) Jaramillo, beloved mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, great-great grandmother, cherished aunt, and friend. She passed away peacefully on April 11, 2025, at the young age of 101. She was born on April 15, 1923, in Carthage, New Mexico, to Alfredo and Louisa (Soto) Fernandez . She was raised on ranches in Tokay and Bingham area until 1937, when she married a kind and gentle Cowboy named Juan Jaramillo. He spoiled her and loved her until his passing. Together, they had a son and 4 daughters. A beacon of love and strength, her life was marked with unwavering devotion to Faith and Family. She was a kind spirit that touched all who knew her. She was known for her travels, her smile, her singing or humming, her love of reading, her kind words, always ending her sentence with "God Bless You" "Come over for Sunday dinner" We never knew who would be at the dinner table on Sunday cooking it all on her own with no help never complained just smiling and happy. Her Faith was what guided her and until the day before she passed she prayed and did the sign of the cross at least five times. She was a retired bus driver of 31 years at Socorro Schools and owned her own bus. She was honored as a Woman of the West. She was in the church choir, Socorro Ladies Aides, and very involved with San Antonio Church. She is preceded in death by her loving husband, Juan Jaramillo; an infant son; her parents; her siblings, Lilia Del Curto and Juan (Johnny) FernÃndez; and son-in-law, Larry Cowan. She is survived by her four daughters, Naomi (Gene) Steele, Louisa Cowan, Grace (Rick) Gutierrez, and Audrey (Mike) Hawkes; 8 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; 13 great-great-grandchildren, and many nieces and nephews that she adored. She leaves a legacy of Love and Kindness that will forever be cherished. Services for Florencia will take place on Wednesday, April 16, 2025, at San Miguel Catholic Church. A visitation will take place at 10:30 am, followed by a rosary at 11:00 am. Mass will be recited at 11:30 am. Florencia will then be laid to rest at the San Antonio Cemetery immediately following the mass. Serving as pallbearers will be Al Garcia, Darin Gutierrez, Travis Gutierrez, Gavin Gutierrez, Inyn Romero, and Bowyn Romero. Honorary pallbearers are Joe Garcia, Ritchie Gutierrez, Zerek Gutierrez, Eben Gutierrez, Jase Garcia, Jacob Garcia, and Alfred Fernandez. Arrangements are being handled by the caring professionals at the Noblin Funeral Service Belen Chapel, where an online guest register is available at www.noblin.
