Gerald E. Gerken Gerald Edward Gerken, long time resident of Albuquerque, passed on peacefully to the next realm on March 23rd, 2025 at the age of 80. Gerry was the oldest of seven siblings, born in Amarillo, TX in August of 1944, to Don and Mary Margaret Gerken. Father to Adam and Erica, and grandfather to 5, Gerry was preceded in death by his parents; the mother of their children, Deborah Lopez Gerken; and his sister, Linda Gerken Maybury. He was a Vietnam War veteran, an experience which forever changed his life. He graduated from Highland High School, with most of his years at St. Pius. He went on to earn several degrees, including a Master of Business Administration UNM 1971, and an Engineer Degree Industrial and Systems Engineering USC 2007. He was a lifelong member of Mensa. Gerry was a lover of beauty, seen in his appreciation of art, gardening, automobiles, and women. He will be dearly missed by his family and friends. A memorial service will be planned at a later date.
