Geraldine "Jeri" Maes (Sanchez) October 6, 1947 - July 21, 2025 With profound love and sadness, we announce the passing of Geraldine "Jeri" Maes, who left this world peacefully in her hometown of Albuquerque, New Mexico, after a courageous journey with cancer. Born on October 6, 1947, Jeri lived a life full of heart, purpose, and devotion to those she loved. She was preceded in death by her beloved son, Kenneth Sandoval; and by three of her cherished siblings, Margaret Garcia, Dolores Anaya, and Severo Sanchez Jr. She is survived by her sisters, Dorothy Parker and Virginia Saavedra. She is survived by her children: Ronald Sandoval, Deanna and Don Newsom, Joseph and Holly Maes. She leaves behind many grandchildren who adored her. Celebration of Life for Jeri Maes will be held in the Chapel of Direct Funeral Services Mortuary, 2919 4th St NW., Albuquerque, NM 87107, on Friday, September 5, 2025, 10:30am. Burial will follow at San Jose de Armijo Cemetery, 2957 Arenal Rd SW., Albuquerque, NM 87121. We are grateful that she is now at peace with our loving Savior, Jesus Christ, her body at rest, her spirit forever dancing in his presence.
