Gilbert G Quintana Gilbert Quintana passed away peacefully on June 27, 2025, at the age of 69. He was born on September 27, 1955, in Silver City, NM, and raised in Bayard. A 1973 graduate of Cobre High School, Gilbert served as a Military Policeman in the U.S. Army in Okinawa, Japan. His lifelong commitment to law enforcement included service as a Grant County Police Officer and later as a Special Agent in Charge for the U.S. Forest Service. Known for his integrity and fairness, he was widely respected and honored with multiple awards throughout his career. Gilbert will be remembered as a devoted father, grandfather, and friend; a kind, generous man with a strong sense of duty and a great sense of humor. He is survived by his sons, Steven and Brian; granddaughters, Damica, Alaze, Quirra, Annonette; and grandson, Steven Jr. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Savanah. He leaves behind a legacy of service, compassion, and love.
