Horace Manzanares Horace Manzanares passed away on Friday, February 28, 2025. He was born on May 15, 1930 to Fabian and Petra Manzanares in Abiquiu, NM and is preceded in death by his parents, brother Nelson and infant son Martin Anthony. He is survived by his wife Viola and daughters Yolanda, Dianne (Jim), Ann Therese, and Mary jo (Daniel); grandchildren Josephine, Claire (Robert), Renee, Rafael, Estevan, and Noelle, and great granddaughter Thea. Horace was a graduate of St. Michael's High School in Santa Fe, the College of Santa Fe, and the Colorado School of Banking. He served in the US Air Force as a member of the military police, and was stationed in Fontainebleau, France as a guard and aide to General Norstadt, Commander in Chief of the Allied Air Forces in Central Europe. He proudly made his career in banking as Vice President and President of the Bank of Santa Fe, El Pueblo State Bank in Espanola, Sunwest Bank in Gallup, finally retiring from Bank of America. During his lifetime, Horace was active in Caballeros DeVargas Santa Fe, the Elks Club in Santa Fe and Gallup, Gallup Inter-tribal Ceremonial Board, VFW, NM Bankers Assn., and Risen Savior Parish. He was also a devoted fan of Notre Dame football. The family would especially like to thank Horace's caretakers at Beehive in Bernalillo, with special thanks to Rebeca, Tristan, and Natalie, as well as his nurse, Ruth from Roadrunner Hospice. Your kindness and care were extraordinary. The rosary for Horace will be held at French Funerals - WYOMING on Thursday, March 20th, 2025 at 6:00pm. Horace's funeral mass will be held at 10:00am on Friday, March 21st, 2025 at Risen Savior Catholic Community, followed by interment at the National Cemetery in Santa Fe at 2:30pm.
