James Holmes Thompson James Holmes Thompson, formally of Wagon Mound, NM, passed away on September 14, 2025 in Albuquerque, NM. James was born to Eleanor and Fred Thompson in Las Vegas, NM in 1942. James grew up on a ranch outside Wagon Mound, NM and attended school in town where he was an All State star basketball player. He served in the Navy in 1964 at the US Naval Schools Command in Newport, RI and in 1968 at US Naval Facility in Adak, AK. James is survived by his brother, Fred (Fritz) Thompson of Albuquerque, and several nieces.
