Janice Colleen Smalley Janice Colleen Smalley of Albuquerque, New Mexico, entered into eternal rest on August 16, 2025, at the age of 81, passing peacefully at home surrounded by her family at sunset while listening to a church service. Janice was born on February 8, 1944, in San Diego, California, to parents Jack Lewis Woods and Blanche "Elaine" Woods (Putman). A devout Christian, Janice was deeply committed to her faith and to sharing the love of Jesus Christ and was an active member of Calvary Church in Albuquerque, where she found joy in attending services, and encouraging others in their faith. Her calling to help others extended far beyond her profession, she lived a life marked by compassion, generosity, and selflessness. There was never a person who crossed her path whom she did not serve in some way. She was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, daughter, sister, aunt, cousin, and friend. Janice was married to her loving husband John since 1965, sharing nearly 60 years of love, partnership, and cherished memories. She found her greatest joy in spending time with her family. Janice is survived by her loving husband, John H. Smalley; her children Dr. Royal Smalley, Dr. Jack Smalley and his wife Lisa, and daughter Misty Colleen Smalley, MBA; and Janice's grandchildren, River, Nyah, Makai and Aria. She is also survived by her siblings; Dale, Duane, Dwight, and Danny; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins. She is preceded in death by her parents, Jack and Elaine Woods, and her brothers, David L. Woods and Dennis Woods Services to honor and celebrate her life will be held on September 4, 2025, at 11:00 a.m. at Calvary Chapel 4001 Osuna Rd. in Albuquerque, New Mexico.
