Jesse Winter Jesse Winter, 46, touched many lives before his own ended abruptly on April 10, 2025. A great, kind teacher with a passion for bilingual education, Jesse dedicated more than fifteen years to middle school students in his hometown of Albuquerque. Despite struggling with dyslexia as a child, he completed a BA in Comparative Literature and a Master's in Education at the University of New Mexico. He will be remembered as an unabashed enthusiast who found his thrill in music, brisket, fire, literature, late nights, early mornings, gardening, social justice, and people. At his core, Jesse believed in everyone. He is survived by his children, Jude Lee Córdova Winter and Mariana Azucena Córdova Winter; his mother, Linda Winter; his father, Gary Woolsey, and stepmother, Karen Woolsey; his sisters, Caroline Wilson, Briana Olson, Chloe Olson, Becky Logan, and Rachel Couzin; and many nieces and nephews. A private memorial service will be held in May. Contributions in Jesse's memory may be made to Dual Language Education of New Mexico or Cross My Paws Animal Rescue.
