Kenneth Brian Mestas Kenneth Brian Mestas (80) passed away on January 31, 2025. Ken was born in Middletown, Connecticut, but grew up in Albuquerque. He attended St. Therese Catholic School and Valley High School before entering the U.S. Air Force. Ken took great pride in his military service and his duty in Vietnam, and for a time, was active in local veteran associations. He retired from Quest after a multi-decade career with the telephone company. Ken was preceded in death by his beloved son Martin Mestas and his parents Lillian and Gasper Mestas. He is survived by his daughter Shivaun (Mestas) Nance-Reilly and husband Mark Reilly, and grandsons Kai Nance and Cian Nance. He is also survived by his best friend of twenty-three years Margarita Garcia-Sexson, his sisters Liane Mestas and Jane Reyes, and his brothers Rick Mestas and wife Maria, Randy Mestas and wife Ruth, and Chuck Mestas and fiance Kate Winet. We will always carry his memory in our hearts. He was a good soul. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations may be made to any U.S. Veteran organization. Kenneth's Life Celebration will begin with a Visitation on Friday, February 7, 2025, at 6:30pm at Salazar Mortuary located at 400 Third St. SW, 87102. Rosary will be recited at 7:00pm. Service will be held on Saturday, February 8, 2025, at 12:00pm also at Salazar Mortuary. Kenneth will be laid to rest at 1:30pm at Sunset Memorial Park Cemetery located at 924 Menaul Blvd NE, 87107. Potluck reception will follow the graveside inside Salazar Mortuary's Event Center.
