Lawrence John Hansen Lawrence John Hansen (Larry), culinary arts specialist and long-time resident of Albuquerque, New Mexico died on the 6th of April 2025 in Cebu City, Philippines. He was 72. Born in New Jersey on the 2nd of January 1953, Larry moved to New Mexico in 1978, where he spent most of his adult life. He worked as a prep cook and chef in multiple fine-dining restaurants in Albuquerque, and one in Santa Fe. He also worked seasonally in Hawaii, Florida, New York, Texas, Maine, Alaska, and British Columbia. Retired in 2022, Larry left the United States, stayed briefly in the Dominican Republic, and moved to the Philippines. The Philippines allowed Larry to enjoy the vibrant Asian culture he loved in an English-speaking country. Larry is survived by his brother William Keith Hansen (Bill, b.1946). He is predeceased by his parents Irving (1916-1994) and Carolyn (1920-2017), and by his sister Gail (1943-2000). Larry will be buried alongside his mother in Pennsylvania on the 12th of July 2025.
