Lorna Y. Maurer 1935-2025 Lorna Y. Maurer, of Bosque Farms, born Sept. 13, 1935, on the Pine Ridge Indian Reservation, S.D., passed away on Sept. 2, 2025. A private service was held on Sept. 22, with interment following at Sunset Memorial Park. Lorna is preceded in death by her husband of 49 years, Arthur L. Maurer; grandchildren, Marissa Maurer, Trevor Berthold, Stephanie Maurer and Robbie Maurer. When Robbie passed away, the light of life and purpose dimmed for Lorna. She had cared for this special child for 39 years. Lorna is survived by all six of her children, Carey (Conny), Duke (Diane), Kirk (Karen), Dawn Berthold, Wade and Robert (Chelle). She had 15 grandchildren, 34 great-grandchildren and five great-great grandchildren. The Maurer family would like to thank the H.A.R.T. program, the Valencia County Meals on Wheels program, Lorna's neighbors and friends, Annie and Judy, and Keri Jo for keeping her promise to care for Lorna's dogs; and Aaron for making every effort to visit Lorna on his many travels. Thank you to Sarah for keeping lines of communication open, and always being that clear voice of reason and love for her grandma.
