Lt. Col. Don T. Gonzales A memorial mass to celebrate the life of Lt. Col. Don T. Gonzales, April 25, 1933 December 12, 2024, of Albuquerque will be held on Thursday, April 3, 2025 at 10am Immaculate Conception Catholic Church, 619 Copper Ave NW in Albuquerque. Don grew up in the south valley of Albuquerque and graduated from St. Mary's High School in 1952 and the University of New Mexico with a B.S. in Civil Engineering in 1956. He was commissioned through ROTC into the U.S. Air Force in 1956 and was a command pilot having flown the B-52 during Vietnam in support of the Arc Light mission and was an instructor pilot for the FB-111. Don described himself as a wealthy man, because of the love he received and was able to give in return. He is survived by his four children Roxanne, her husband, Sandy, Donnie, Melissa, Michelle, and her husband, Alan, four of his brothers Jimmy, Johnny, Eddie and Norman, his 7 grandchildren, 4 great-grandchildren and his chihuahua, Speedy. He is predeceased in death by his beloved wife Julie of Dawson, NM, his son Michael, his brothers Andy and Harvey, and his sisters Lilian, Emily and Karen.
