Marian Kathryn "Katie" Wacek Marian Kathryn "Katie" Wacek of Sandia Park, NM, passed away on September 26, 2025, following a long struggle with pancreatic cancer. She was 67. She is survived by her beloved husband Scott Clauch and siblings Helen Gorder and Michael Wacek. Born in Owatonna, MN, as Marian Judith Wacek to Anton (Tony) and Rose Wacek (nee Smith), after a brief stint as a teacher Katie had a long career in marketing, first in the Twin Cities and later in New Mexico. She loved animals, especially her dogs, and enjoyed outdoor athletic activities like hiking, running and rollerblading until her illness curtailed those activities. Katie was relentlessly optimistic, even after her cancer diagnosis, and was an inspiration to people around her. A celebration of Katie's life will be held in November 15, 2025 at Vista Grande Community Center at 1:00pm.
