Marilyn Margaret Cheetham With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Marilyn Margaret Cheetham, 85, on Friday, May 2, 2025. Marilyn was a woman of extraordinary kindness, grace, and unwavering faith. Her quiet strength and gentle spirit touched the lives of all who knew her. She was the most loving wife, devoted mother, and cherished friend, and she will be deeply missed by all who were fortunate enough to call her their own. Born on April 24, 1940, in Oneonta, New York, Marilyn spent much of her childhood in Clovis, New Mexico, where her father, a member of the armed forces, was stationed during World War II and the Korean War. After graduating high school, Marilyn pursued a music major at the University of New Mexico, where she met the love of her life, John. Their union was one built on love and mutual respect, and they shared many happy years together before John's passing just 10 months earlier. Marilyn was deeply devoted to her faith and spent much of her life participating in church choirs and choral societies, where her beautiful voice brought joy to others. Music remained a lifelong passion that connected her to God, to her community, and to the heart of her family. Marilyn is preceded in death by her beloved husband, John, and her sister, Candace. She is survived by her two sons, Dan and Andy, and their families, her brother Neil, and her sister Gwynne. The love and memories she leaves behind will remain with them forever. A Funeral Mass and Celebration of Life will be held in Marilyn's honor at Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Columbia, MO, at 10:00 AM on Friday, June 6, 2025. All who knew and loved Marilyn are welcome to attend. "The souls of the righteous are in the hand of God, and no torment shall touch them." - Wisdom 3:1 May Marilyn rest in peace in the loving arms of our Heavenly Father.
