Martha Rose Clift Martha Jane Rose Clift died at age 100 on April 4, 2025. She was born at home on the family farm in Fayette County, Indiana, to Amy and Clyde Rose on January 2, 1925. Martha married Walter H. Clift of Greenfield, Indiana, and in 1951, they moved to Albuquerque, and later to Placitas, for Walter's health. Martha is survived by her daughter, Marsha Clift Bol; her son-in-law, Dr. Michael Katz; and her granddaughter, Cory Moore and her spouse, Chris Moore, all of Santa Fe. She was the last survivor of the nine Rose children and is survived by many nieces and nephews. She worked in Administration for the Albuquerque Public Schools for 27 years at Monte Vista, Bandelier, Apache, Kennedy Schools, and APS East Area. Always elegantly dressed, Martha was a consummate seamstress and a skilled flower gardener. She was an enthusiastic reader, ever trading mystery novels with her daughter and granddaughter. She loved a good New Mexican meal, a good movie, a good joke, and a good glass of wine, all of which may have contributed to her successful aging to centenarian status. A child of the Great Depression, Martha was keenly attuned to the value of family especially in times of hardship. She will be dearly missed by those who loved her, and who will carry her memory in their hearts and in their flower gardens. A family burial will be held at Sandia Memory Gardens.
