Priscilla Diana Martinez Priscilla Diana Martinez was born in Albuquerque, New Mexico on July 24th, 1959, (or "Nineteen never mind" as she would like to say) to Manuelita ("Minnie") and Leo J. Hernandez. Priscilla died in Austin, Texas on August 29th, 2025. Priscilla had been sick for many years and was strongly battling multiple illnesses, like the Lioness that she was. She lived her life through laughter and classic rock music. Priscilla grew up in the South Valley and graduated from Rio Grande High School in 1978. She then moved to Clovis and enrolled in Eastern New Mexico University majoring in Communications with a goal of becoming a news anchor. Priscilla competed in the American GI Forum pageant. Winning Miss Albuquerque, Miss New Mexico and went to Corpus Christi, TX, where she was crowned the American GI Forum's National Queen 1978/1979. Priscilla then married her high school sweetheart Michael Martinez and had her three beloved children: Michael Joshua, Francesca, and Matthew Martinez. Priscilla was a Mother Figure to all and fairy Godmother to Gabrielle, Gabriel, Heather, and Melissa. Priscilla loved creating craft projects and even had her own business, called Priscilla's Creations, selling her beautiful projects. Priscilla could make a joke in any situation, having the whole room laughing. She loved giving gifts, just to see the happiness on other people's faces. She loved spending time with family and arranging parties. She always lived with kind words and loving encouragement. Special family members dear to her: Libby Waits, Claudia, Donise, and Angelique. Priscilla also had many nieces and nephews, who will never forget her. She is survived by siblings: Jennifer, husband Rudy, Michael, Suzanne, Judith, husband Robert, and John, wife Karen. Priscilla moved to Austin, TX in 2022 to create memories with Francesca and Matthew. Priscilla is now in heaven with her son, Michael Joshua Martinez; Mother, Manuelita Hernandez; Father, Leo Hernandez; and brother, Joey Hernandez. We know that they welcomed her with open arms. Joshua is showing her a good time and giving her the grand tour. Services are going to be Thursday, September 25th, 2025, at Saint Anne's Catholic Church, 1400 Arenal SW, Albuquerque, NM 87105. Rosary: 8:15am. Funeral: 9am and reception to follow in the parish hall. Priscilla loved flowers, particularly roses. In memory of her, if able, please present flowers in her honor.
