Roger J. Montoya Roger was born in La Junta, CO on September 12, 1936 and passed away on April 8, 2025 in Albuquerque, surrounded by family. He is survived by his three sons, Roger Jr. (RJ) and Lori Pike-Banach, Roman, and Richard and Jen; ten grandchildren: Brienne, Savanna, Alexsea, Jessica, Nicholas, Rico, Victoria, and Seamus, Albus, and Garrus Livar; five great-grandchildren: Adrian Bojorquez, Riley and Nolan Stringfellow, and Josua and Jaysely Loya; sister-in-law, Dora, and numerous nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his loving wife Gloria; parents, Anastacio and Agapita Montoya; brothers, Anastacio Jr., Ezekiel, Floren, and Lucas; sisters, Margie Sandoval and Bernice Garcia and sisters-in-law, Lena Montoya and Libby Montoya. Roger graduated from Albuquerque High School in 1955 and the University of Albuquerque in 1976. He served in the United States Air Force during the Vietnam war and retired from the New Mexico Air National Guard in 1992 with the rank of SMSgt. Roger played basketball for Albuquerque High School and enjoyed bowling and especially golf. Service will be held on Wednesday, April 30, 2025 at the Shrine of St. Bernadette with a rosary starting at 9:30 am followed by a service at 10:00 am. A reception will follow the service at St. Bernadette parish hall. Roger is resting in comfort in the arms of the heavenly father.
