Sally Estes 1934-2025 Sally Catherine Estes passed away Aug. 8, 2025. She was 91 years old and born in 1934. She grew up in Panama, had many adventures there, and graduated from Balboa High School. She went on to college in the United States and went on to be a teacher, librarian, book reviewer and finally an editor for American Library Association. She was preceded in death by her youngest daughter, Rhonda Wood. She leaves behind her only surviving daughter, Deborah Montoya and husband Marvin; two grandchildren, Robert and Catherine. She also leaves behind six great-grandchildren, Thea, Katelynne, Ethan, Calleigh, Elsie and Liam. She was a great-great grandmother to Anna Rose, Thea's first child. Sally was the rock of support for our whole family and she will be missed. Her greatest gifts were books, education and compassion. We will always love her.
