Sandra Kay Mace On October 30th, 2025, Sandra Kay Mace (nee Kirchoff) passed away peacefully, with her family at her bedside. Her passing was marked by the same grace with which she lived. While gathered, her family shared stories and humorous memories of Sandi. In her youth, she could be fearlessly outspoken, a bit rebellious, and wasn't afraid to follow her heart. She loved to sing and enjoyed expressing her talents in painting, ceramics, and stained glass. Sandi was born August 1, 1948, in Cherokee, Iowa. Her family later moved to Socorro, New Mexico, where she graduated valedictorian from Socorro High School in 1966. Shortly thereafter, she moved to Albuquerque where she spent the rest of her life. For over two decades, Sandi enjoyed working for Albuquerque Public Schools. The friends she made, in and out of work, remained so for a lifetime. Sandi exuded warmth and generosity, traits reflected in her children. Family was paramount to her, and she was dedicated to her kids and grandson. She made sure they and their spouses knew they were deeply loved. At the end of every phone call, her last word was always "love". She is predeceased by her parents Bonnie and Kenneth Kirchoff; husband Montie Cast; and husband Nick Mace. Sandi is survived by her children Cody Cast (Michelle), Devin Cast (Jessa), Kendra Scarborough (Brian) and grandson Brody Scarborough; sister Donna Moio, brothers Tom Kirchoff and Jim Kirchoff; uncle Bob Thomas (Flois); and nieces and nephews. Sandi, you were cherished and are greatly missed. Love.
