Steve Jimenez-Griego Steve Jimenez-Griego, 60, of Albuquerque, New Mexico, passed away on November 25, 2025, and entered into the gates of heaven. Steve was born on June 5, 1965. He graduated from Albuquerque High School, Class of 1983. From a young age, he discovered his passion for cars, a love that shaped the course of his entire life. He dedicated his career to working on vehicles, and My Mechanic became his heart and soul, a business he poured everything into since 1993. His gift for fixing cars was matched only by the love he put into his work, and everyone who knew him recognized that this was more than a job; it was his calling. Steve was the most loving and giving person. Above all, he loved his family. He loved his family more than anything in the world. They were his entire world. He cherished every moment, every call, and every visit. He loved his family with all his heart. Steve was the true definition of a soul full of heart. He loved deeply, judged no one, and was always ready to help anyone who needed him. His strength, character, and unwavering kindness were a beacon of light to so many. His daily good morning messages and Bible verses touched countless lives, reminding others they were seen, cared for, and prayed over. Steve's faith was the foundation of who he was. A devoted believer and proud member of Saint Bernadette Catholic Church, he held tightly to God every day of his life. He wore his cross faithfully and never removed it, a constant symbol of the faith he lived by. He poured his heart into everything he did and carried a smile that lit up every room. He was the life of the party, always giving, always providing, and always making sure everyone else was okay. His generosity, joy, and steady presence made him the rock for many. Steve is survived by his lifelong companion, Charity Cunningham; his children Daphne Cooper, Darice Cooper, Tamara Navarro, Savannah Jimenez, Estevan Jimenez, and Joseph Varela; and his grandchildren David Morales, Destiny Morales, Xavier Morales, Chendito Najar, Kaylee Diaz, Jazmin Diaz, Jayce Navarro, and Jax Navarro, as well as his great-granddaughter Mia Morales. He is also survived by his siblings, Robert Montano and his wife Janet Montano, his sister Dianne Garcia, and brother Randy Montano, Hope Jimenez-Vargas and her husband Heriberto Vargas, along with many aunts, uncles, cousins, and all those who loved him so deeply. He leaves behind countless cherished friends whose lives were forever touched by his spirit. He is preceded in death by his father, Steve Elauterio Griego, his mother, Frances Jimenez, his brother, Victor Jimenez, and his sister, Victoria Jimenez. Steve's presence was a blessing, and the void left by his absence is immeasurable. His family, friends, and all who loved him will carry his memory forever. He will be deeply, profoundly, and endlessly missed. In remembrance of him, We trust he is now cradled in God's mercy and surrounded by heavenly peace. Though he is no longer with us on earth, his love continues to live in every heart he touched. "In My Father's house are many rooms. I go to prepare a place for you, that where I am, there you may be also."
