Steven Mager Steven "Steve" Carl Mager, 71, passed away peacefully in Scottsdale, Arizona on February 4th, 2025 with his family by his side. Steve was born on January 13, 1954 in New York, New York to Doris and Hy Mager. He attended Arizona State University and graduated with a degree in Business and Political Science. After graduation, Steve moved to Albuquerque where he joined and eventually took over the family businesses, Dee's Cheesecake Factory & Dee's Foodservice. It was there that he met Lisa Zenner, his wife of nearly 44 years. Steve and Lisa married in 1981 and had three daughters, Lauren, Julianne, and Meghan. Steve's hard work and dedication elevated Dee's Cheesecake Factory into a beloved local favorite. After more than 40 years in business, the family closed Dee's Cheesecake Factory and Dee's Foodservice in 2014, and Steve and Lisa retired to Scottsdale, Arizona. Steve was scuba certified and enjoyed traveling with Lisa on diving excursions. Determined to conquer his fear of heights, he earned his pilot's license, scoring a near perfect score on the FAA written exam. He loved spending weekends with family, soaking up the sun, and dining out with friends. In the last few years, nothing brought Steve more joy than his dog, Rylee. The two shared a special bond, and he would do anything for her. Steve is survived by his sister, Karen (Chuck deceased), his wife, Lisa, his three daughters Lauren Lerner, Julianne Goldlust (Samuel), and Meghan Simchowitz (Martin), and his two grandsons, Zachary (Lauren) and Joshua (Meghan). A private graveside service was held in Scottsdale on February 6th, 2025.
