Toby (Blandford T) Smith Toby (Blandford T) Smith was born June 8, 1946, in New Haven, CT, to Royall George and Marie Smith. He had four siblings, Thomas R (Sharon), Polly (deceased), Julie (Steve) and Felicia. He was married to Susan for 50 years and together they had two sons, Jedediah (Lindsey) and Carson. Toby had a 50 year career in journalism, was active at First Presbyterian Church, the tennis community and taught at UNM. Toby suffered with Alzheimer's/Dementia and a stroke took him. He finished the race on February 18, 2025. In lieu of flowers, contributions can be made to First Presbyterian Church deacon fund or The Menaul Historical Library, 301 Menaul Blvd. NE, ABQ, NM 87107. A memorial service will be held on Saturday, March 15, 2025, at 11 a.m. at First Presbyterian Church, 215 Locust St. NE, ABQ. It will be streamed on the FPC YouTube channel as well (firstpresabq.org).
