Toni Oehler Kingsley Toni Rae Oehler Kingsley, 81, died July 22, 2025 at her home in Corrales, New Mexico after an eight year battle with leukemia. She was born in Cincinnati, Ohio to Howard A. Oehler and Maria E. Burck Oehler on September 15, 1943. Toni was preceded in death by her parents and sister, Jacqueline Oehler Filgis and is survived by her husband of 57 years, Robert E. Kingsley; her children, Aaron L. Kingsley and Scott A. Kingsley (Jessica Chere Watson Kingsley); four grandchildren, Piper Jane Womelsdorf, Lilian Diana Kingsley, Scout Ruby Kingsley, and Aiden Edward Kingsley; brothers, Doug Oehler and Terry Oehler (Mary Lou Roberts Oehler); as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and a great number of friends. Toni received a BA degree from Villa Madonna College in 1966 and a PhD in Physiology from Indiana University in 1972. She taught part-time at Notre Dame University and Indiana University while her children were young. She later joined the faculty at Indiana University School of Medicine. Subsequently, she worked in the medical device industry, retiring from Zimmer, Inc. as V.P of Global Regulatory Affairs in 2008. Toni and Bob spent their retirement years in Albuquerque, where Toni became involved with various volunteer organizations. Active throughout her life, she played soccer, racquetball, and bridge. She especially enjoyed playing golf, being a staunch member of the Tanoan Country Club Niners Golf Association. Toni was a devout Catholic, her faith a central pillar of her life. She often volunteered her time to causes that were important to her, working with the Alameda / Rio Grande Open Space, being a 'foster grandparent' to help children's literacy, making meals for the women's shelter and comforting hospice patients. Throughout her life, Toni traveled and vacationed around the world. She spent summers with her family on Lake Michigan, long summer road trips with the family throughout the United States, and multiple wilderness canoe camping trips to Isle Royal and Quetico Provincial Park in Canada. In retirement, she explored the world with her husband, Bob, on trips to Europe, Australia, and Hawaii. Services will be at Our Lady of the Most Holy Rosary Catholic Community, 5415 Fortuna Road, NW, Albuquerque on August 8, 2025. We will begin gathering at 8:30am and celebrate the Mass of Christian Burial at 9:00 a.m. A small reception will follow. Interment will occur at a future date in Cincinnati. Contributions in Toni's memory may be made to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society or to the charity of your choice.
